Julia, this image has a very ethereal quality. This is created by the subtle linear repetition, which is vertical in the branches of the vine, and horizontal, in the clouds segueing into the horizontal arteries of the leaves. The ethereal quality is made even stronger because of the few knotted vine branches, which create a joyful tension and subtle movement. In addition, the "dancing knots" which speckle the upper and right third of the composition could be exploited to help maximize the musical aspect of the photo. Try testing different angles and filters to find the most effective way to emphasize these elements in your photo.

The contrast of the bright red leaves with the blue sky is a very striking use of color. This could be made even more prominent by including more of the red leaves. Try photographing a larger area and experiment later with the most effective cropping.

An "uncomfortable" tension is created for me in the fact that the crop is so tight. Including several more full-surface leaves could add a more emotional quality to the image that is not only visually but also viscerally stimulating.

The strongest images are those which both communicate an emotion and do so in a graphically interesting way. Because your subject is vibrant leaves and knotted vine branches, there are many intriguing concepts which could be addressed by the photo. This again could be explored by framing your subject more broadly and exploring your cropping options later.
