Spanish Banks and Jericho Park

2009.05.05
Pine siskin.

Red-breasted nuthatch.

Large raft of white-winged scoters out in the Burrard inlet.

White-winged scoters.

Skies clearing, after the rain.

White-crowned sparrow.

The red-winged blackbirds are very territorial at the moment. This guy let me know that I wasn't welcome. It was very Hitchcock.

American Wigeons on Jerciho pond.

Pied-billed grebe.

Great blue heron, in the reeds.

Beaver! I come to this park a lot, and this is only the 2nd time I've seen a beaver.

More after work exploring. I got rained on in the woods, but by the time I got down to the beach, it was clearing up, making for some great dramatic skies. I came across some interesting wildlife on the way, including a raft of hundreds of white-winged scoters, and a beaver in Jericho pond.
